This building has undergone a series of transformations in its use. Originally a Police Station and later a Fire Station, it has been renovated to incorporate residential apartments on the second and third floors, with plans for a restaurant on the first floor. The challenge was presented by a 1960s brutalist-style front renovation in the 1970s, which had distorted the storefront.
In an effort to restore the building to its historic roots, the new owner decided to revitalize the storefront. Old photographs sourced from the local historical society played a crucial role in informing the design of the new front façade. This thoughtful restoration not only honors the building’s original character but also contributes to the preservation of its historical significance within the community.
